STEREO Ronnie's - My Grandma was a waitress @ Ronnie's and always had a lot of good stories to tell about it. The owners were from Afghanistan and were so kind and ran such a good business. And before Burger Chef, there was Royal Castle....burgers were small, so you ordered several, along with an order of root beer.
Just south of Colonial Drive on OBT Denny's near the malls and downtown is now gone. 3 Sons laundromat on Edgewater -- it was next to Publix before they expanded. And at Kit Kat Club you'd get a free beer glass on your birthday, sniff, sniff....
also saw on wikipedia that WCIX in Miami was a superstation in Florida. am a first-time poster and as a resident of Central Fl since 1977 this is a great thread! I barely remember even the name of this place, let alone what they had.
A lot of the store mentioned, with fondness, earlier in the thread were music stores. Also, since one dinner theatre was mentioned, we should also remember Sebastian's, which went kaput in '74 and reopened as The Phoenix, which also shortly went kaput. There was one on 50 at Alafaya, in the same shopping center was The Dunes surf shop and Tien Garden restaurant. (I Think) Winter Park Mall - loved Ivey's (acquired by Dillards) WORL STUDIO 13 - WOKB STUDIO 16 TIGER RADIO- Y106 - BJ105 16, 000 Movies (multiple locations). They also had the tempting 'Adult" section behind the curtains in the back. Since it's the holidays, I remember there was this one house in Winter Park, it was off Palmer Ave, that had a huge tree in the yard. downtown Albertsons Supermarkets is closing another store, the one at Orange and Michigan.
